Synchro Receiver

This project includes a PIC microcontroller reading an analog-to-digital converter and a 7 segment display. It can be used for a wide variety of general purpose analog data logging but in this case the software specifically targets its use as an analog synchro receiver, displaying an angle from 000.0 to 359.9 degrees.

  • PCB layout separates analog and digital circuitry
  • 14 bit ADC with 6 channels simultaneously sampled at up to 200ksps
  • Analog front end allows +/- 48V input (supports 26VAC RMS synchros)
  • Uses Scott-T transform for calculating synchro and resolver angles
  • Multiplexed 7 segment display wth 0.1 degree resolution
  • Also capable of reading LVDTs and RVDTs with 0.1mm resolution
  • UART interface for logging to a PC
